What are symptoms, signs and problems associated with liver cancer  ?What is this terrible disease?

What is liver cancer?

Liver cancer is a malignant  tumor that has nested itself in the liver. Liver cancer or cancer in the liver is actually fairly common. The liver itself consists of millions of cells and these cells are constantly renewed as a result of aging and the damaging of the old cells. This process is called cell division. It splits a cell into two and is thus multiplied. In the cell splitting process a lot can go wrong. The multiplication is disrupted when the cells are not correctly split. This creates useless cells who are able to multiply. This can lead to the growth of a malignant tumor in the liver. The above mentioned type of liver cancer is called primary liver cancer. We also know of secondary liver cancer. This type of cancer occurs when the cancer is spread in another area of the body to the liver.

With tumors we distinguish benign and malignant types of tumor. So there are benign and malignant tumors. Whereby benign seems to be an innocent tumor, while a malignant is a full grown malignant tumor and can be talked about cancer. The extent to which a malignant tumor grows is much faster than that of a benign tumor. A benign tumor does not pierce its way through other tissue, it does continue to grow so other organs can get oppressed by it. A good example of a benign tumor is a wart.
